Projects are how we deliver transformations in our buildings: whether it’s replacing HVAC systems, expanding a facility, or converting a rental building to condos, we find ourselves dealing with projects. Projects (when run well) deliver value to the building, client and tenant; yet, when they go wrong, can threaten the financial stability of the company. As managers, building owners, engineers and architects or others in the commercial and residential real estate world, we need to ensure our projects are well planned and well run. This half-day workshop will introduce participants to some of the basic concepts and techniques of project management and covers the most important concepts and essential processes in managing projects without getting lost in jargon. Using real-world examples from our own industry, you will learn how to build more realistic project timelines and budgets, minimize risks that may derail your initiative, and deliver your changes successfully.
This course is providing one Professional Development Unit (PDU) for each course hour. These PDUs can be used towards the requirements for maintaining Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification. Seminar attendance qualifies for 3 (three) PMI PDUs in the Technical category. A certificate of attendance will be issued upon completion of the course.
