As building codes begin to change nationally to allow larger mass timber structures, this building material has re-emerged into the mainstream. However, there is significant inertia in the North American construction industry that impedes widespread adoption. While quality information on mass timber is readily available, is often diffuse and difficult to aggregate. This presentation will bring together information for individuals of any experience level who are curious, those who are skeptical, and especially those who have been doing it a certain way for 30 years. The speakers will tackle common myths from costing, scheduling, construction risks, and common industry perceptions while sharing real life experiences and knowledge gained in the field.
